Located just two minutes' walk from the main street of Cortona, where most of the shops, bars and boutiques are to be found, Pancrazi has just about all the features that you could possibly wish for in a vacation rental property in town - quiet days and peaceful nights, no traffic noise, panoramic views of the Val di Chiana and Lake Trasimeno, an open-air roof terrace where you can relax outside during the daytime and enjoy "al fresco" aperitives on those lazy summer evenings before going out to dinner and then maybe a concert or opera in Piazza Signorelli (in July and August). Also, a beautiful public swimming pool (equipped with pool loungers, a restaurant and a bar) has recently been inaugurated, just 15 minutes' walk from the apartment along the pedestrians-only Parterre.
The house, which is laid out on three floor levels plus the roof terrace, has its own private street entrance. On entry there is a small hall which gives access to a fascinating stone cellar featuring an ancient artesian well (said to bring good luck) and a charming bathroom with tub. A unique and rather beautiful semi-circular stone staircase leads up to the next level which comprises a large (300-sq.ft.) living room and dining area with the TV and DVD player. The kitchen (which gets the morning sun streaming in) is a separate room on this floor level. The semi-circular stone staircase then leads up from the kitchen to the second floor where there are two double bedrooms (divisible for singles occupancy) and a second independent bathroom with shower (not ensuite). Finally, a flight of steps leads up to the roof level with access to the private panoramic terrace (about 100 sq.ft.) All of the rooms in the house, except for the g.f. cellar, are bright and enjoy truly inspiring views of the Cortona rooftops and the great valley beyond.
